FEATURED PROJECT
Leslie gulch.
Residential Commission
This months featured project is a 200 square foot rendition of the Leslie Gulch area for a residential garden patio in Boise, Idaho.
This is one of my favorite projects to date because it was an opportunity to experiment with a new landscape, highlighting the beauty of light play off of rock formations.
I worked closely with this family, pouring over photographs of their vacations and hiking adventures to determine the feel of the environment that resonates with them. From there I created a series of sketches that I felt embodied these moods until I hit on a design they loved!.
This piece is a great example of how murals are not only for commercial environments. They also being a unique beauty to residential spaces as well and a pop of color to the neighborhood!

FEATURED PROJECT
North End Nursery
This months featured project is the massive, larger than life canvas of North End Organic Nursery on Chinden Blvd. in Garden City, Idaho.
Lyndsay and I have worked closely together to turn this 3,000 square foot wall into a platform to "Bring the Garden Back to Garden City'.
I was given full creative license to design a mural featuring pollinators and local flora. I am in love with the wings on dragonflies and butterflies and decide to create a graphic version of these creatures along with poppies, lupine, bumblebees and orchids. I started by choosing a base color or 'cloud' that would blend with the bluebird sky on clear blue days, creating an almost floating effect for the mural elements. We finished this piece with a newly designed logo by Eric Wiley.
This project is my largest undertaking to date and has easily been the most rewarding in terms of a sense of accomplishment. I was able to bring in my good friend, Scott Hameister, to assist with application. At writing, we are still one week away from completing the details on this beast, but it is rapidly coming together in time for winter storms.
I cannot properly express how gratifying it has been to hear the community response to our beautification of their daily commute down Chinden. It is truly an honor to positively impact my community just by doing what I love.
Drop by 7 days a week to check out this new mural and grab a coffee from the cute little coffee bar tucked inside of North End Nursery's Garden City location at 3777 W Chinden Blvd, in Garden City ID.

FEATURED PROJECT
SOL NUTRITION
This months featured project is SOL Nutrition Smoothie and Juice Bar in Meridian!
Sunne and I have been working together on various projects for nearly a year. First it was Elevate Nutrition, featuring a doodle art social media wall, and most recently this piece at SOL.
We began with her logo, designed by her very talented sister Rylee Dunn. We wanted to create a piece that featured SOL's logo but that also went beyond the boundaries of that logo to create an organic, energetic sense of space.
This project went through a number of transformations, both of size and concept. We finally arrived at a small (but large; 12x16 feet at its largest point) framed version of our original design. And of course we had to add some sparkle! I found a great glitter additive by Hemway that mixes directly into the paint itself. The included buffing pad revealed thousands of brilliant sparkles, adding a gorgeous dimension to the sunrays central to this mural.
In their final stages of construction, you can soon visit SOL in person at 2845 E Overland Road in Meridian!

FEATURED PROJECT
coned pizza
This months featured project is Coned! Pizza in Meridian
They were looking for a way to spruce up their current brick and morter at 2976 E Overland Rd in Meridian, ID. These small strip mall locations can be difficult to personalize, but I am finding that a mural is the perfect way to really make the space unique and memorable without taking up much needed floor space.
I am so excited about how this is turning out. I am using a really cool method to create this starburst background. It utilizes two different paints of the same color but a different sheen. This makes it appear like there are two different shades of black creating the effect when it is really just a flat and a satin sheen which catch the light in different ways. In some lights there appears to be an almost velvety texture to the flat paint and in others the color differences almost completely disappear!
The image itself is showcasing the unique process of creating a 'pizza cone'; these delightful handheld pizza meals, personalized to suit your topping preferences. I'm using a pop art style here which really spices up the energy of the restaurant and the cutting edge nature of the process itself.
Below are pictures of the process: from sketches on paper to sketches on the wall and finally the finished product!
This was such a fun and challenging project! Stay tuned for more pieces at this location.
Check out Coned!'s new location at 103 N 10th St in Boise, ID.
